Benin's High Authority for Corruption Prevention (HCPC) has called for strict adherence to the law in the case involving Richard Boni Ouorou, leader of the political party "Le Libéral." This demand follows public revelations by the Minister of the Interior regarding alleged corruption during the party's recognition process. The HCPC emphasized that if these acts are confirmed, they would constitute a severe breach of the principles of integrity and neutrality that should govern public action, especially in the sensitive area of political life.

The HCPC stressed that corruption should not be considered a mere administrative irregularity but a direct threat to the general interest, equality before the administration, and the credibility of republican institutions. The agency acknowledged the prompt response of the Ministry of the Interior, including the suspension of implicated agents and the initiation of judicial procedures, viewing it as a strong signal in favor of transparency and accountability in public affairs management.

The institution urged judicial authorities to investigate the matter with the utmost rigor, respecting the rights of the accused, including the presumption of innocence. It also called on public life actors to strengthen internal prevention and control mechanisms to reduce the risk of misconduct and restore public trust in the impartiality of the administration. The HCPC intends to continue its awareness, advisory, and monitoring actions among institutions and citizens, upholding equity and accountability principles, reaffirming that the fight against corruption must be constant, serving justice and republican cohesion.
